Proclaimed the most powerful locomotive built in the 19th century and the best locomotive in the game.

Key features:

  • Requires no room in depot
  • Never break and never require maintenance
  • Can pull up to 3 carriages
  • Can be hitched to any available carriage in the game.

The Decapod locomotive is one of the most cost-effective train that can pull three carriages, making it the most useful locomotive in the game (though, with Premium class cargo carriages, Mallet is the most cost-effective train in the game).

Decapod sale

It can be purchased for 335 gold, and many players avoid spending their gold on anything else. It can also be purchased for cash, and about once a month there is a 50% off sale. Occasionally on sale for cash (most recently for US$8.59).

A Decapod is also the prize for the Daily Bonus on Day 30 (and if you go through the full 90 day bonus cycle, also on Day 120)

The only locomotive which is better is the Hurricane, which can also pull three carriages, and has the added bonus of granting more chances to obtain managers and items. But the Hurricane can only be purchased with actual currency, and at US$56, it is not even remotely worth it.

Maintenance & Dismantling[]

A Decapod may be Dismantled for random Parts:
